Yeller by Fred gipson,This is a 117 page book.IT was passed from a book to a movie,I figured this out
because ,I went to the public library and since I happened to find the "Old Yeller"movie I checked it out, so I
know a little more information then the book, that's why I chose to do a Book Review on this book.
This book is about a small family that lives in the woods.The characters are Little Arliss A little boy and his
big brother named Travis,he is very annoyed by little arliss.Then there is pa and ma whom are always taking little
Arliss's side.Travis gets very upset cause of that.
One day they go hunting and they find a dog.once they got familiar with it,Arliss wanted to take it home,
but travis said ma wouldn't let them.But they decided to give it a shot.when they were running home, he started
barking, but it was more of a yell,so they named him old yeller.When they got home ma said of course you can keep
him,he would be a good guard, and will help with the hunting.But after a while,Travis started getting mad because
when Old Yeller hunted something down,Arliss took the credit.Like when the dog caught a fish, he said"I jumped
into the river and faught with it,it was a challenge but it was no match for me."
He kept doing it so Travis told his mom that Old Yeller was making the biggest liar of little arliss in Texas.
But ma does not listen to him.Once pa leaves on a cattle drive ,a bear attacks little arliss and old yeller saves him.And he caughht the bear,so arliss took it and said he had caught him.
